A Paris Love Affair

23 Mar

Do You Recall The Night My Love

When Once We Strolled

The Streets Of Old Paris

Beneath The Gas Lamps

Shrouded In Soft Falling Rain

Hand In Hand

On The Cobblestones

On That Night Of Love

We Strolled

Feeling The Cold Mists Rising

From The River Seine

We Were So In Love

My Sweet Heart

Your Eyes Sparkled

In Those Early Days

Of Our Happiness

I Gazed Into Your Eyes

With Adoration

And Caressed

Your Long Radiant Hair

Protected That Evening

By The Parasol

The Gas Lamps

Had Just Been Lit

And You Shyly

Clasped My Hand

In Your Soft Tender Grip

Be-toking Tenderness In Love

We Strolled Till Late

My Sweet Heart

Till The Gas Lamps

Grew Dim

And Beneath Their Fading Light

We Kissed

We Professed Our Love For Eternity

And Arm In Arm

In An Ancient Life

Our Souls Faded

Into The Mists

Of The River Seine As

We Strolled That Old Paris Street

Fantastic Video Cat, thoroughly enjoyed it, now that’s another place I have to investigate, in the meantime I am heading off again in a month or so, to check out the northern part of Chile.
      Look after yourself Girl.

A great choice you give me Cat, either the Bunny or The Goat, you certainly have found some unusual names to label your favourite ski haunts.
            Cheers

Bunny Hill is easy … just a short lil hill which you slide down on … either on your skies or on your bum … which ever you prefer … smiles … goats eye is a bit more tricky … but ultimately the same … you slide down on your skies or your bum … LOL … Love, cat.

Hi Cat, think I will leave the Ski slopes to you, either Bum or Skies are not my scene, I prefer climbing Glaciers and visiting Ice shelves, don’t have to work so hard but they have a fear Adrenalin rush to them. Sent you a small parcel off, probably take a few days to find you.
                Cheers.

A beautiful ski run Cat, unfortunately skiing is not one of my fortes, alas I must let you do that run alone, there must be some great ski slopes in Chile and not far from the capital Santiago, the majestic Andes are completely covered in snow in Winter, maybe we could meet one day in the warmth of a fire in one of the great Chilean ski resorts, sadly your Goats Eye looks a little to daunting even for this intrepid old traveller.
          Keep smiling Girl.

I visited your Emu site and missed this charming French love story.
The couple under the gas lamps illuminated their love, walking hand and hand. May their passionate flames be forever lit, dear Ian. Hugs for you and Ana, along with prayers for health and safety for you and your family.

      Thank you Robin
I love the old world of France and Paris, it was always romantic sounding, unfortunately I now leave any thoughts of a visit to rest in my imagination.

I haven’t been to many countries, including France. It does seem like a dream come true.
We are lucky to have been to a few nice locations. I’ve been to Mexico, Spain and Canada. You’ve been to South America, live in Australia and have been to many beautiful places. . . I forget some of them, I’m sure! 🙂

Sorry for the late reply Robin, you have been to three places I have never been, but would like to go, I have done Vietnam involuntarily, Papua New Guinea and Chile twice, heading off again to Chile in the next month or so again, love that country, but it’s always nice to come back to your home base.
          Wishing you well Dear Friend.

It is lovely to hear that you still in enjoy Paris, latest events around the world, has eroded my desire to visit the beautiful European countries that kindled thoughts of love and happiness in my younger days. South America is my country of visit these days,
      Kind regards.

@”latest events around the world…” – I do understand your point, Ian, BUT I can confirm that Paris is still full of tourists from all over the world, Australians included… 🙂 May I suggest to NOT believe everything you watch or hear on TV, please… otherwise, I’m realistic, pragmatic and lucid: if I’m meant(supposed) to pass-away, I won’t need to get on a plane, to travel to Paris or to any other place… why?! I can die any sec’ of a heart-attack or who knows what?! 😀

have a peaceful week and tons of inspiration! cheers! 🙂

Thank you for those words Melanie, you are quite correct, I need not miss out on enjoying life, as life has its own span. Maybe Europe will once again appear on my radar.
          My kindest regards.

Very similar mate, different country though, but I wrote that back in days where my memories seemed to come from a different era, bit like time travelling back to the past in the mind, old guys like me are allowed these little foibles of the mind.
