Childhood Dreams Of Make Believe

01 Jul

I Am Not There

To Hold Your Hand

Or Wrap You In My Arms At Night

But At Night I Lay Awake

And Watch The Stars

In The Darkness

Beneath The Canopy

Of The Heavens

They Sparkle And Shine

In A Little Boys Eyes

Till Exhaustion Takes My Eyes

And Then I Drift

Into A Fairyland Of Dreams

A Land Where I Am Not Alone

A Land Where I Am Loved

Yet In This Fairyland Of Love

A Little Boy Still Runs

He Runs From Times And Spaces

Where Love Is Real

But Love Can Hurt

Through Boyish Eyes

He Looks Into His Dreams

And Looks At Love

Wanting To Love

Wanting Love

Through Aged Eyes Of Misty Blue

Still Scared Of Love Like A Puppy

Who Has Been Hurt Before

A Little Scared Boy

Through Ancient Eyes

Looks At Love

Imagines Pleasures

Imagines Joy

Tingles Playing Up And Down

His Spine

Knowing He Is Yours

And You Are Mine

Tingles Of Pleasure

From Fingers To Toes

For His Love Must Follow

Wherever You Go

Boyish Dreams Are Dreams Of Love

Childhood Dreams

Should Never Be Crushed

Little Boys Need Love

Little Boys Need Dreams

Don’t See What I See

When I Cry

I May Be Frail

My Body Has Aged Over The Years

But My Rainbow Of Dreams

Is Also The Rainbow

Of Love

In A Young Boys Tears

The Rainbow Of Love

In An Old Mans Eyes

Mums and dads invitably teared up where they understood that it could have been different that the role model they presented was so much in develoment of their kids, atttudes to food and exercise.

Well this is a very late response to your comment Sue.
I seem to be arse about these days, reading blogs and answering comments
Not to worry, I end up getting there though.
I drool every time I see pics of your allotment, a gardeners heaven.
          Cheers

No worries Ian.. I am the same.. too little time for blog land when the real world of growing your own in the allotments is what matters.. Hope you drool over my recipe of Rhubarb and Strawberry Crumble when you get to that one Ian 🙂

Hi Sue, thanks for the visit and comment
              Sorry for the late acknowledgement
I have been tied up with jury duty recently
I have a lot of catching up to do now
but will certainly visit your table
              to see your gastronomic dish.

Thanks for the visit Sue, do hope you are keeping well, notice you are not as active as you used to be on wordpress.
We all tend to go that way sooner or later, maybe we try too hard to internet socialise and share, I like to sit back sometimes and watch my friends interact on wordpress.
Jury duty was an experience, one I would do again, a heavy responsibility but an honest social justice system.
                  Cheers

Yes I am sitting back and taking things a little more easily now Ian.. And I am taking my time going through my back log of comments and visiting their blogs as I go..
Yes I am pleased we have a wonderful Jury Justice system also in place Ian,, but hope never to be called upon… And yes a huge responsibility Ian.. One I can see you doing very well…..xx

It is lovely to hear that you are taking things easier Sue, I sensed you were becoming overpowered with emotions, and maybe a little of hopelesness was creeping in, I mean hopelesness in a spiritual way.
The world has become a sad place, but from small things, big things grow, faith in our being and understanding our immortality as spirits, will overide all negative emotions.

Ian, such emotion in your poem here from a little boy who longed for such love in childhood. A feeling never to leave no matter your age. Empathy felt as I can relate in ways held dear.
