Enrico Macias – Zingarella – Gina Lollobrigida
Fantastic music and Gina dancing to a medieval setting: Very, very good!
There are many more tapes to watch that are probably very good too.
I have to come back to them some other time.
Apart from GL I love Sophia Loren too.
    Thanks for sharing, Ian.

Hi Auntyuta, Sophia Loren was a beautiful lady
who made many a mans heart miss a beat.
You might like to google Miranda, she was a very exotic singer and dancer
I think she was Caribbean or Mexican.
      Regards

Hi Ian, Mambo Italiano is great to watch but I just loved this video with Gina Lollobrigida. She looked great. 🙂 Just now I googled and found out that Gina Lollobrigida is seven years older than Sophia Loren. I noticed that Sophia Loren was born on the 20th of September 1934. ( I was born just one day later!) I think Gina L became famous a few years before Sophia L became famous. Both women still seem to be alive. I could not find an exotic singer/dancer under the name of Miranda.
        Cheers, Auntyuta

Thanks for checking out the facts Auntyuta, for some reason I thought Sophia Loren had died.
The other singer dancer I mentioned, I also got her name wrong, it actually is Carmen Miranda.
She can be found in youtube, Ana introduced me to her singing and dancing.
          Cheers

Love it! The Lady in the Tutti Fruity Hat.
Thanks Ana and Ian. Carmen Miranda is a make feel good person! 🙂
              Cheers

              P.S.
“Uti, Tutti, Fruity,” this is what one of my cousins sometimes called me, when I was about four. And I hated it when he teased me like this! 🙂

                http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmen_Miranda
I found this page in Wikipedia very interesting. At one time Carmen Miranda apparently was the highest paid women in the United States, but her popularity waned by the end of WW II.

Hi Auntyuta, well you certainly found out more than me on Carmen Miranda.
I never knew she reached those heights in the United States.
I will check out your link for more details.
Wonder why her popularity waned by the end of WW2.
                  Cheers

I just googled your link Auntyuta and got more info.
Her fruit hat was certainly her trademark which she tried to shake off years later.
Will now get Ana to download her two movies as I had never hear of them.
The name Uti Tutti Fruity does really rhyme hehe.
                Cheers

Hehe, Ian, this cousin Georg, who was already about 20 at the time, he laughed his head off because little “Utti” got so annoyed!

We saw many, many Hollywood movies after the war and loved them. But neither Peter nor I can recall ever having seen a Carmen Miranda movie. I do remember for instance this one:

“Ziegfeld Girl is a 1941 American musical film starring James Stewart, Judy Garland, Hedy Lamarr, and Lana Turner, and co-starring Tony Martin, Jackie Cooper,” (Wikipedia)

Gee, I very much loved these American musical films!

                  Cheers

We love all those old American musicals too Auntyuta, Ana has got quite a collection now on her g stick, about 500 I think, they are all dated by years and we add to them as we download them, saw All the Gangs Here, last night, wasnt overly impressed with it as I was expecting more, but for those days it was a great production.

Sorry for the late delay in responding Melanie
Sophia Loren is one of the movie screens greatest icons.
She really did sell Italy to the world with her movies.
Definitely an actor who changed the face of movie production.
Hope you are well my friend and wish you much love.
