Andre Rieu

27 Oct

Greetings to my friends and followers of Aussie Ians site.

Ana and I recently returned from a beautiful four day holiday in Adelaide South Australia.

We stayed in the panoramic seaside town called Glenelg, situated on the coastline with pristine beaches, the sounds of the waves breaking on the shore, intemingling with the cry of the gulls, soft sand beneath our feet, and the waning sunset closing the horizon, was the background for our visit to this idyllic romantic beachside resort.

The purpose of our visit, was to attend a concert given by the world renowned conductor and violinist, Andre Rieu.

A long time dream of mine finally came to fruition, I have always wanted to see Andre Rieu play and conduct his Johann Strauss orchestra, and finally he was performing in a venue near to us.

At the moment he is touring Australia, and there was no way I was going to miss the chance for a once in a lifetime experience.

For those that love the classical music from the Strauss era, and the spellbinding music from the masters of a bygone era, you could only be mesmerised.

The Andre Rieu performance was perfection and a credit to all the music masters of old, masters who placed the groundwork for classical music as we know it today.

I was born in the wrong era, the music took me back to a time where I danced amongst the stars , and the ballrooms of my romantic mind.

I leave you to enjoy this video clip of Andre Rieu performing in his hometown of Maastricht.

Wishing my friends much happiness, and most importantly, lots of love.

Aussie Ian

Was a fantastic concert Sue, the orchestra were unbelievable and interacted with the audience, Andre Rieu is not only a great conductor and violinist, but a damn good comedian too, we had a great time in Glenelg and took the tram to the entertainment centre.
We are off again next week for an annual army reunion in Healesville, went there last year.
Hope all is well at your end and your Dad is improving daily.
      Give my regards to Ross.
      Cheers
