Mona Lisa

13 May

Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa, men have named you

You’re so like the lady with the mystic smile

Is it only ’cause you’re lonely they have blamed you?

For that Mona Lisa strangeness in your smile?

Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa?

Or is this your way to hide a broken heart?

Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep

They just lie there and they die there

Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa?

Or just a cold and lonely lovely work of art?

Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa?

Or is this your way to hide a broken heart?

Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep

They just lie there and they die there

Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa?

Or just a cold and lonely lovely work of art?

Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa

What a fantastic rich voice he had, Ian, and such an easy singing style which is a pleasure to the ears and soul. Thanks for sharing, my lovely friend. xPenx

I remember this one from when I was a kid.

There were a couple of covers, but Nat King Cole was always the best!!!

    God Bless!

Nat King Cole, was a Great Singer… with some wonderful Songs…. …Gone are some of the great romantic’s of Song.. with some of those who you have portrayed here Ian.. Such as Dean Martin, Perry Como, Frank Sinatra .. And others.. All whose Words you can hear and sing along too..

Maybe its my age… But Give me the Good oldies every time.. Thank you for refreshing my memory Ian.. some great Songs… I have relived on your pages.. 🙂
